The Muffin Has a Friend: Episode 2 of Data & Doughnuts Arrives Tuesday!

Remember that inner voice that tells you you're not good enough? What if it came to life, wore leather better than you, and started teaching your croissants about narrative structure?

Welcome back to Quantum Island, friends.

"You, Rewritten" Lands This Tuesday

I'm thrilled to announce that Episode 2 of Data & Doughnuts is launching this Tuesday, July 8th on Amazon Kindle! If you thought body-swapping with a baker was weird, wait until you meet Rina Talbot—a writer whose confident pen name literally manifests and starts fixing all her manuscripts (with aggressive enthusiasm).

What's Baking in Episode 2?

When struggling author Rina crashes on Quantum Island, she makes the mistake of wishing she could BE her successful alter ego, Ree Talon. On an island where wishes become aggressively literal, this goes exactly as well as you'd expect.

Now Ree is:

- Teaching confidence workshops

- Copyrighting Rina's future ideas

- Making everyone's font choices bolder

- Wearing a leather jacket that makes impostor syndrome jealous

But here's the thing about "better" versions of ourselves—sometimes they're just louder, not wiser.

Why This Episode Matters to Me

As writers, we all have that voice. The confident one who finishes things, who doesn't spend three hours debating semicolons, who probably has a literary agent made of pure swagger. "You, Rewritten" is about the conversation we need to have with that voice—not to silence it, but to find harmony.

Plus, there are genre-fluid croissants. One speaks exclusively in haiku. I regret nothing.

Already Read Episode 1?

Perfect! Episode 2 works as a standalone, but you'll catch extra flavor if you've met BART and Kippy before.

New to Quantum Island?

Welcome! Each episode features a complete story, so you can jump in anywhere. Though I recommend starting with "The Muffin That Knew Too Much" because, well, it knew too much.

What's Next?

Episode 3: "Shortbread and Longing" is already in the oven, featuring a time-displaced librarian and Tuesday's most aggressive appearance yet. (Yes, Tuesday is a character. No, I won't explain. Yes, it makes sense in context.)

Final Thought from BART

"Remember: Identity crises are like soufflés—they seem intimidating until you realize everyone's is a little lopsided. The magic is in embracing the wobble."

See you Tuesday on Quantum Island, where every breakdown leads to a breakthrough, and the pastries have opinions about your character development.

The oven light is always on.
